Some customers wish to add their custom email accounts from their web hosting package to an existing Gmail account.
This allows you to send all your email to one place, meaning you would only have one login to check all your mail.
To do this you must first create email accounts in your cPanel.
Once your email is setup, you can log into your Gmail account and set it up.
Here's how to set up your emails in Gmail:
1. In your Gmail account click on the settings cog (top right) and then click 'See all Settings'
2. Click on the 'Accounts and Import' tab
3. Click on the 'Add a Mail Account' option
4. A yellow box will popup with some information you need to enter.
To get this information log into your Automate WP cPanel and go to cPanel > Email Accounts and click on 'Connect Devices'
5. You'll notice a box that says 'Secure SSL/TLS Settings (Recommended)
This is all the information you need to import your email into Gmail.
6. Going back to the dialog box that popped up in your Gmail account you must now enter your email address.
7. On the next screen choose the option 'Import emails from my other account (POP3)'
8. Fill in the credentials provided from the Secure SSL/TLS settings in cPanel.
Username: This is your email address
Password: The password for your email account
POP Server: This is defined in the box inside of cPanel
Port: This is also defined in that same box inside cPanel
Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server: Do not check this box. It will chew up your disk space and you may have to upgrade your account.
Always use secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail: Make sure this box is checked. You always want to do this.
Archive incoming messages: This will skip the inbox and automatically archive the email coming in. I don't recommend you do this.
And that's it. Once you've completed this your email will automatically be imported into your Gmail account.
There's one final step if you want to send email from your custom domain so people do not see your Gmail address.
On the next screen you can set that up.
Gmail gives you the option to treat your new email account as an Alias.
This means that you can still send email from your domain name but use Gmail servers to send it.
Most people will want to use an Alias as Gmail has a high delivery rate (meaning your email is more likely to end up in someones inbox vs their spam folder)
Once you save changes, you will get a verification email with a pin code. In order to activate your email in Gmail you must enter the pin confirmation code.
Once this is all completed you're all setup and can now start using Gmail to send and receive emails from your custom domain.
