A lot of our customers want to use Google Workspace (Formerly G Suite) for their email accounts on their web hosting packages with us.
G Suite is a very reliable email option that we highly recommend using here at Automate WP.
Here's how to configure your site to use g suite:
First, create your Google Workspace account here: https://workspace.google.com/
During the registration process Google will ask you to do 2 things.
1 - Verify your domain name (how to add zone records)
2 - Add MX records to your cPanel in your hosting account.
Step 1: Adding Your MX Records
Before we setup the required records we want to tell cPanel that we're no longer using it for email. This helps our system prioritize where the email is going to go.
Login to your cPanel and search for 'Email Routing'

Next, choose the domain you wish to update and change the routing option to 'Remote Mail Exchanger'

Once selected, click 'Change'
Step 2: Modify Your MX Records
Here you're going to remove your Automate WP local record and replace it with Google's
Once you do this your email will no longer be handled by Automate WP.
This includes all auto responders, forwards, and email accounts.
To change your MX Records go back to cPanel and search for 'Zone Editor'

Next click on '+ MX Record' for the domain you wish to add the records for:

Here's the 5 MX Records you need to add:

Important note: you want to add the records WITHOUT the trailing period (.)
ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
ALT3.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
ALT4.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
Step 3: Delete Your Default MX Record
Once this is finished you need to remove the default MX Record.
You can do this by clicking on 'Manage':

Then delete the default MX Record with (Priority: 0):

Once you've completed this step G Suite email should be successfully configured.
Step 4: Check Your DNS Records
You can check the status of your MX records here: https://dnschecker.org/
Enter your domain name, choose the records you wish to check, and review the status.
Usually this change happens right away but can take up to 24 hours to fully propogate.
