If you want to clone one of your WordPress websites over to a new domain, we got you covered.
It just takes a few clicks.
This is only for users that have our Master Automation Hub Template installed or any other WordPress website that was installed by Softaculous in the cPanel.
Important Note: To move forward with cloning your website, first confirm the new domain's nameservers (DNS) are pointed to Automate WP.
Once the nameservers propagate, Auto SSL will automatically install your SSL certificate for you on the new domain.
This may take up to 24 hours to fully propagate from the time you changed the nameservers.
You can find your accounts nameservers in the 'New Account Information' email.
To begin the cloning process log into your Automate WP cPanel. (How to login to your cPanel)
Step 1
Search for 'WordPress Manager by Softaculous'
Step 2
Click on the down arrow for the website you want to clone.
Step 3
Click the 'Clone' button
Step 4
This is the most important step.
First choose the protocol you want to install the website on. Always use: https://www.
Then choose the domain you want to copy the website over to.
Leave the 'In Directory' area blank (unless you want to install the website in a sub-folder).
Step 5
Inside the popup scroll to the bottom and click the 'Clone Installation' button.
Step 6
Wait for the clone to complete.
Depending on the size of the website you're cloning this may take anywhere from 1 minute to 10 minutes.
Step 7
Your finished. You can now log into your new WordPress website with the same information as the original website.
